I have been thinking about starting a blog for sometime now. But you know how it is. Something you know is worthwhile gets put on the back burner because there are always other things to do. Well, I think this is important – this sportsmanship thing. Sportsmanship is the best of sport. It represents our best play, work ethic, attitude, and behavior. Webster’s defines sportsmanship as conduct (as fairness, respect for one’s opponent, and graciousness in winning or losing) becoming to one participating in a sport.
There is no such thing as bad sportsmanship. The term is an oxymoron. Either you are displaying sportsmanship or you are not. We all know that sportsmanship is not always on display. Athletes, fans, coaches, and parents are not always the models of sportsmanship. This blogger, however, will write about the ones that do. And even when we have a negative topic, we will strive to achieve a positive outcome. Please check in at 10 a.m. central time for daily postings and “breaking news” whenever necessary. I welcome and appreciate your feedback. A blog is only as good as the people who read it. Until next time…
Be a Good Sport!
